is to inspire the people of Alabama to be more politically engaged and involved by making both political events and regular day-to-day discussions more digestible to the regular joe.
As our political situation gets more and more disturbing and prices rise daily, everyone seems to be struggling.
If we want change, we all need to fight for it. The wealthy do their best to keep us busy and exhausted, but if you don’t want to spend the rest of your life exhausted and poor then you need to learn the system that billionaire donors have paid our politicians to build.
If you’re going to stand up for yourself and the people you care about, you’ll need a solid understanding of what’s going on. At KnowYourRightsAndWrongs.info, our goal is to arm you with the knowledge you need and that our school systems may have failed to provide you with.

Hello! My name is Dakota and I am chronically stressed by the state of our state. It feels like every day people seem more tired, run down, and stressed. Every time I leave my neighborhood I see a new homeless person, and every time I talk to them another one has been arrested.
A year or two ago I was shocked to discover that it is illegal to sleep on public property in Alabama. According to Al.com, sleeping overnight on public property, panhandling, or blocking a sidewalk may “result in a fine up to $500, incarceration for six months and the potential for community service”. Where the hell is a homeless person going to get $500, and why should they be jailed for 6 months because they were unfortunate or made bad financial decisions? If you don’t want people to make bad decisions, maybe take some of the $1 billion we spend on prisons every year and use it to teach kids about financial literacy? And to top it all off, homelessness has increased by 39.3% since 2023. Every day that our government refuses to offer any relief for rising costs and wastes money on projects meant to punish rather than help, more people are at risk of being homeless.
It’s time for us to do something about it, and this website is me doing something about it.
I have to believe that if people were aware of injustices like this, they wouldn’t keep voting for the people who enact them. I have to believe that our state is like this because voters are uninformed, because if I believe that our state treats human beings poorly because this is what voters want from our government, I may lose all hope entirely.
