Currently, the Department of Human Resources arranges services for adults in need of care and protection. This bill would require the department to train individuals employed by the department to identify people with dementia and the best ways to help those people.

Sometimes people will steal metallic things like copper wiring in order to sell it to a secondary metal recycler. This bill would provide a minimum amount of jail time for anyone convicted of doing that, and also would expand certain types of copper wire to the list of things you are not allowed to steal.

This bill would restrict a county’s ability to reprimand someone for not paying solid waste utility fees to only recovering outstanding charges via a lawsuit, suspending solid waste services, or both. It would also remove the penalty of being charged with a misdemeanor for a person who doesn’t pay their waste removal fees
