Laura Hall in her own words:
I could not find a campaign website for Laura Hall, however there is a glowing description of her on the Children’s Defense Fund website.
Laura Hill in the bills she’s sponsored:
The article about her on the Children’s Defense Fund website mentions several bills she has sponsored which go back further in time than I have covered so far, namely:
“HB 427, which created a system of “Silver Alerts” for which all missing persons with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease are eligible, regardless of age, as well as requiring law enforcement personnel to undergo specialized training regarding such cases. HB 474, which designated December 1 as Rosa Parks Day in honor of the ‘First Lady of Civil Rights’. HB115, which created a policy by which newborns can be brought to hospitals within 72 hours of birth instead of being abandoned… She also continues to fight for the rights and well-being of those with mental illness and cognitive disorders, access to healthcare, particularly for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, and the rights of incarcerated and previously incarcerated persons”.
Her more recent set of sponsored legislation shows the last part of that testament to be true. There’s a bill to help fund the Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a bill to help parolees who have violated their parole be judged on an individual basis, rather than in broad legal strokes, as well as several bills to help stabilize agricultural industries and energy supplies.
Her potential successor:
Laura Hall is currently running against Donald Barnes. His website is ugly as hell and contains no information whatsoever, mainly emphasizing the fact that by him running, members of District 19 will finally have a choice between 2 candidates. He makes no argument whatsoever as to why he would be the better choice, just that he is a choice. I find this absolutely hilarious. As far as his politics, he just provides a link to the Alabama Republican Party platform. Does this guy even want to win? Or is he stupid? My website has more effort put into it than his, and as of my writing this it’s not even halfway done yet.
