Tracy Estes has decided not to run for re-election, and as such there is little political information about him available. His Facebook page mostly recounts fun times with his son and congratulating his son on his birthday.

Nothing crazy, but nothing really substantial either. This guy was definitely ready to retire.

Tracy Estes has chosen not to run for re-election, and so he will be succeeded by Phil Segraves. Phil lists his main issues as: bringing job opportunities to District 17, keeping “progressive policies” out of our schools, funding law enforcement, and reducing cost of living by cutting regulations and… blaming “tax and spend progressives”. Phil, you’re in Alabama. What progressives are you talking about? Can you name one progressive policy in our schools? And we’ve seen what cutting regulations does for the citizens. Have you eaten lettuce or blueberries lately? I sure as hell haven’t. I have enough bowel problems without Cyclospora. Cutting taxes is fine and all, but I find it’s a lot easier to get out of poverty through earning higher wages, not from not paying taxes on the minimum wage you earn. It’ll be easier for the government to stop spending so much money on funding welfare and SNAP benefits when Walmart pays their employees a wage they can live off of. I honestly kind of hope Phil loses his election to a write-in somehow, because all the crap he spouts sounds like more of the same ol’ same ol’ that got our state ranked in the bottom five out of fifty in almost every category.
